PROJECT CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Mas Llagostera was born as a comprehensive project that promotes self-sufficiency energy saving and reusing own resources with the main goal to support the Responsible eco-tourism.
Sustainable tourism practices:
Mas Llagostera is 100% sustainable! The house is not connected to theelectricity grid , telephone, or gas. Renewable energy sources as solar and bio-thermal are installed in the house to generate energy enough to produce electricity and hot water itself. Light bulbs, cell detection lamps, automatic stop facilities ... that is, everything needed to ensure that the energetic waste fits to regeneration of the estate itself.
Vineyards and olive trees guarantee biomass fuel boiler to heat the house. The pruning , the olives stones (after producing olive oil) and the waste from the forest feed the fuel boiler that keeps warm the temperature the house during the cold months. The rainwater is collected in a cistern and afterwards it is used to water the areas where irrigation support is needed.

Some years ago we opted for the conversion of the traditional farm into eco-friendly farming in accordance to the philosophy of the project. This will not only guarantee the nutritional value of obtained fruits, but we make sure to contribute to the environment coherently. The grapes we get from the farm are sold to nearby cellars where Penedès DO wines and DO Cava s are produced .
From Mas Llagostera we try to get across our way to understand the environment and invest great part of our efforts in order to to keep and recover the agricultural heritage: maintenance and preservation of stone fields fence and dry stone huts, cleaning and maintenance of forests and all those tasks that revert to the conservation of a better environment. We are glad to share all it with you so we have created a marked route within the estate, those who visit us could enjoy of a pleasant walk through vineyards, olive trees, and forest; and could get to see up to four dry stone huts, recovered to enrich the cultural and leisure activities on the rural tradition of the area.
